5. Dome. The dome is to be similar in design to that shown
on Drg. No.2.4472/21, Reqn.No.251/1. The joint between
the dome and the dome base is to be made with a Hulburd's
copper joint ring, and fitted bolts are to be used.
6. Firebox Bottom Ring. The firebox bottom ring is to be of
mild steel, class A, or selected scrap-iron double
rivetted, similar to that shown on Drg. No. Z.4472/20,
Reqn. No. 251/1.
7. Fire Hole. The firehole ring is to be of steel class
"A" made without weld. Cast iron protectors for the rivet
heads are to be fitted inside the firebox.
8. Boiler Stays & Supports. The boiler stays are to be of
the same design as those shown on Drg.No.Z.4472/26 & 27, Reqn.No.251/1, and are to be of "E" class steel, B.S.S.
No.8, Report No.24 of 1921. The number plate fitted on the firebox back and shown at item H on Drg.No.2.4472/27 Reqn.No.251/1 is to be retained, but with the particulars
corrected for the boilers as fitted.
9. Waterspace Stays. Ordinary copper stays are to be fitted
in lieu of the "Z" Metal flexible stays shown on the contract drawings.
10. Expansion Angles and Steadying Bracket. The expansion
angles are to be similar to those shown on Drg.No.Z.4472/ 28, Reqn.No.251/1, fitted with hard gunmetal liners.
The steadying bracket is to be similar to that shown on Drg.No. Z.4472/29, Regn. No. 251/1.
11. Boiler Mountings. For the mud-collectors, washout seats,
mud and fusible plugs, and firebox seatings, Drgs. Nos.
Z.4472/69 & 70, Regn. No.251/1 are to be followed.
All seatings on the firebox back are to be of steel,
class E, B.S.S. No. 8, Report No. 24 of 1921, and where
possible they are to be the same as those shown on Drg.
